Winter in Nordanstig

Nordanstig's nature offers great opportunities for winter activities, everything from skiing downhill or cross-country, to snowmobile excursions. Or why not experience the snowy landscape from a horseback?

In Hassela there are nice skii slopes and in several places in the municipality there are several lighted tracks for cross-country skiing. Fishing is very popular in the winters and every year Sweden's largest ice fishing competition is arranged on Lake "Hasselasjön" with over 300 participating teams. Outdoor skating rinks are available in Stocka and Bergsjö. In addition, there is Gällsta IK's ice rink in Gnarp. Free skating school is often organized for children. Hall's farm offers wonderful riding tours on Icelandic horses in the beautiful forests. They also have sleigh rides, where the whole family can tag along!

Gällsta Ice Skating

This local Ice Rink and it´s association offers free skating on winter holiday breaks. They also provide practice in ice skating for children and youths. The Ice rink is open october-april.

The ski tracks are often run by local, non-profit sports associations (the exception is Hassela Ski Resort) and are dependent on the natural supply of snow, to be able to prepare the tracks each season. We therefore recommend keeping an eye on skidspar.se for current information.
