With pride we can say that you will find a lot of locally produced food and products in our area. We have axe forging, a flower pot factory, chocolate candy, jam etc. The latest is a commercial garden that grows their own flower plants. Nordanstig have also been called "the artists and handicrafters arena" as we have many artists and handicrafters living here. 
Besides this, there are a lot of charming cafées and restaurants, which offers a wide variety of pastery, cookies, cakes and food. Something for all preferences... On top of that, you can visit our farm house Ersk-Mats in Hassela during summer season, and have a taste of traditional old-fashioned dishes. For example, a kind of oat meal, pancakes with pork, blood bread with white sauce, fried bread etc. 

In other words, high quality products are made here. Furthermore, big investments has been made at multiple dairy farms in the area these last few years and the development are progressing rapidly in agriculture. Did you know that a farmer gets a text message if a cow has a fever? In spring time you can visit some farms when they release their cattle for summer season. Potatoes, meat, honey, wool and grain are some more products from Nordanstig.
