Summer Pasture Week - Old Custom Site farming

During the summer pasture week(old custom farming) in Gävleborg, you can take part in a number of activities. The week aims to draw attention to climate-smart food production, biodiversity and local traditions. With knowledge of traditional methods, we can also strengthen our civil preparedness. Welcome June 28-July 5!

The summer pasture week provides a wonderful opportunity to explore and celebrate summer pasture farming, where we can discover and learn more about how food was produced in the past. In our county, there are several active old summer site pastures that open their doors to welcome visitors. We hope that even more people will get the chance to experience summer pasture life and gain a deeper understanding of our animals and our history.

During the summer pasture week, you can participate in various activities such as courses, workshops, hikes and lectures to deepen your knowledge of the summer pasture's cultural heritage.

The activities during the summer pasture week will take place at various summer pastures in Gävleborg County, giving you the opportunity to explore and enjoy the beautiful nature and culture of the region.

Locally in Nordanstig sites will be open in Gnarp and Hassela. More information will be presented during the month of June 2026.
